Level Money: Spend Confidently and Achieve Balance App Reviews

First to Worst

I loved this app. Told all my friends about it. Swiping left or right made this easy & manageable on the go. The daily/monthly trackers & overview were the best part of it. Now it is clunky & doesnt work. I dont really see myself using this app as it is no longer helpful or easy.

Really hate the update

The prior version definitely had bugs and needed improvements but worked and was generally intuitive. New version seems to strip away features and make it harder to use. Really dislike that I have to tap several times to recategorize a transaction now rather than just swipe to the right too.

Great spending control app

Easy for me to use and I can monitor and categorize all my expenditures. Great connections to my banking and credit card companies for quick updating! New update makes it way easier to use!!!

No exaggerations

***EDIT: This version of the app is still terrible, but I highly recommend PocketGuard after seeing other reviewers post about it - it brings to the table most of the features that Level 3.0 got rid of (although no widget yet) and is a thousand times more intuitive and user friendly than Level currently is.*** The other reviews werent lying... The new update is really that bad. No more widget, a clunky interface, more difficult to make changes, more difficult to view trackers, and plenty of removed features. Just a bad, bad, useless app now.

Great tool

Great tool, but not a huge fan of the new version.

Used to be a good app

The most recent update introduced a confusing UI which is difficult to understand. Features which I found to be useful were also removed. Why would you get rid of Touch ID?

I hate it

Ive done a research. There is no such app as LevelMoney 2 used to be. I am disappointed

Still ruined.

Bring back the swiping feature. Its obnoxious to have to open each transaction to classify it.

Rough update

So thankful for this free product. But I must agree the new update is borderline unusable, from overall sluggishness to the removal of key features (like rollover) that made this one of my favorite apps :/

Love it!

Very helpful and simple to use.

Great app despite bugs

I have come to rely heavily on this app for my budgetary needs. It is easy to use, clean interface, simple to link to accounts, etc. Ive recommended it to many others similarly situated financially (this app is best for those with a relatively uncomplicated budget). However my reliance on it makes the frequent bugs all the more frustrating! They are typically addressed in a few days but I wish they had endured a bug-free app before implementing the most recent update. I also miss the comparison graphs. They might exist somewhere else now but I find it harder to navigate since the big update. Overall, I still love Level and will continue to use it exclusively as my budgeting app!

Liked it better before

I used to recommend this app to all of my friends because I loved it so much. With the new update everything is slower and more confusing. Definitely switching apps

What Happened?

I used to love this app, but the big update left it lacking. It updates very slowly, leaving a confusing picture of what is actually going on. It feels like it used to have more options than it does now. Please undo all the changes, it was fine before. Im going to look at other apps to replace this.

Update takes you BACKWARDS

Update completely shat the bed. I was so excited to see Levels update since the previous version was amazing. Ive never wished I could undo an app update more than I do now. L3 does not simplify - it complicates. (1) You can no longer manually set aside a monthly savings amount. Instead, you have to back into the math by choosing a spending number that accommodates your goal. This may seem like a minor change in temporal framing, but the spend slider makes that simple decision much harder than it was previously. (2) MoM trending is essentially gone and what is now available is incorrect. The trends shown for my TM actual spend and LM actuals are exactly the same even though I have records that show I have spent differently. When you select "Projection," a seemingly random number is shown that does not reflect TM or LM actuals - how the hell was this number derived? (3) There is no single replacement for the "Insights" view. Instead you have to move between individual widgets to see data that used to be centralized; this includes MoM spend, overall account balance trends, and spend trackers. How does that make things simple? It doesnt. (4) Non-income credits do not affect your "spendable" figure. This is okay-ish since bonuses gifts etc shouldnt technically be spent in their entirety. However, I imagine this will make the app hard to use for people with irregular incomes and will make the process of counting side-income less automatic. (5) Really? The app doesnt require a passcode any more? Please bring back L2 and just call it L4 so that we can get back to something thats useful.

Great and still optimizing

Great app. Still calibrating and so are they. Looking forward to it!

What Happened

This used to be my go to tool for financial tracking. With the update my I for hasnt changed in a few weeks and sometimes it wont even let me get through to the transactions. Very disappointed. I wish youd revert to version 2 while you fix the issues

A Great App Ruined

This used to be a great app but in an effort to make it even better, they ruined it. The app is kind of unreliable now because you cant trust the feed. Some info is missing. Move on to another app or wait for them to fix all the problems.

This App is now broken

There is no swipe anymore, please do something. 3D Touch will be awesome for this app. There are weird card that you cant get rid off.

Great concept-lost

Level 3.0 took a huge step back and I delete yet another finance tool. The original level stood for simplicity and then they turned into another overly complex app.

Thank You!

You guys have really turned it around in the newest update! The server is way more responsive, allowing for me to have an accurate daily balance so I can know how much to spend that day. Ive gotten used to how the trackers are set up now, so thats no problem for me. I also really like the trackers summary at the end of each month! Pretty nifty Ill have to say. Overall, just thank you for fixing most of the main issue that was bank and credit Union transaction updating.
