New version ruined a great App

Level Money was one of the finest simplest apps for answering one simple question… “Should I buy that second beer or not?” Now there is no simple three-bubble display to answer that question. The savings planning is gone. The new owners of Level Money, Capital One, have ruined it. Did they fire all of the original developers??

So far so good

Im really pleased with the arrangement and organization with the app!

Erased EVERYTHING

This morning I opened the app to have it prompt me to log back in after my session had expired. Log in and EVERYTHING IS GONE. All my trackers, income, everything. Erased. I now have to start from scratch after months of using this app.

Bummed

Since the new UI: - transactions can take days to appear (used to be seconds) - loses sync with account - allows duplicate accounts - duplicate transactions Basically it went from an app I completely relied on to something that just frustrates me. :( bummer theres nothing else like it.

This app is useless right now

When I set my spendable level, it either doesnt save it OR when it saves it, it deletes all but one of my Trackers and all income sources and all bills that Ive logged. If I log out and back in, it restores the Trackers, income, and bills. However, the spendable limit is reset way off: it has bills and spendable well above my income amounts, making it useless. When I readjust the spendable, the above mentioned happens again. Right now, its not useful at all. However, I love the concept of the app and hope this can be fixed very soon.

Step Backwards

The previous version of the app was very good and useful. With the update, it was supposed to get "smarter," but it now incorrectly predicts my bills an income and sets my spendable as being higher than I actually make. Terrible update. Caused me to delete my profile since it was just wasting space on my phone and no longer providing me with useful information.

Big Improvements

First downloaded this app a couple of months ago. While cool in concept, the transactions would take forever to reflect this resulting in inaccurate reporting of when i spent my money.. This seems to be MUCH better now and gives a good reflection of how much i can spend in a given day based on my set goals. Keep it up!!

Completely unusable

Great app, been using it for a while, but lately its just completely unusable. Missing data, slow and buggy views, etc..

Worth the setup

Ill have to admit, going through the process of setting up another budget tracker seemed unpleasant but it wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be. Its straight forward. Once you get everything set, its perfect for knowing when and when not to spend money on something. It really makes you choose your priorities. I used Mint in the past, which I enjoyed for the most part. One of the best features I enjoy about Level is being able to ignore a large transaction or unplanned one from savings. I know Mint has this to an extent, but Level seems to have nailed the idea for what theyre trying accomplish - a simple way to figure out if you can buy that extra "_____" or not in just a couple seconds.

This is really cool.

I haven’t seen anyone successfully make money simple until now. Keep it up!

Made a serious step backwards

To the point, please bring back: -daily spending limit -budget option for monthly savings Simply showing my transactions vs my income is pointless; my bank app already shows me *that*. If I spend what it shows as my spendable now, thats 0 to savings. Making me do that myself negates the entire point of the app. Stupid, stupid, STUPID downgrade on your part, Level.

Miss the old Level

Update: Thanks to another reviewer, Ive now downloaded PocketGuard! It functions the way Level should. I may keep Level to see if they fix the issues but until then, PocketGuard is amazing. The old Level was so simple! I loved that about it. I also miss having the spendable and autosave separate. Now its a little confusing to really see what is your spendable and what youre saving. I also miss being able to rotate the different bubbles so that you could have the daily spendable as the main information bubble. The interface looks great though!

Great App

So far its been a good app and has helped me budget my financial needs.. Its keeps track of my spending and calculates how much spending a day after all main bills have been paid.

App is messed up

Will not load any of my accounts. Nothing will show up. Bad update.

Old version was so much better

With the new update, the app became ineffective with its goals. First of all, many transactions are duplicated. A budgeting tool is pretty pointless if it cant get the transactions right. In addition, the bubbles .... What do they mean? It used to be so simple with the daily, weekly and monthly spendables. And I cant manually enter my income anymore? Company expense reimbursements sometimes can make my bank account look very nice ... But thats not income. Dear UX designers at Level: please remember what make you so good. Simplicity in budgeting. This new version, if anything, looks like feature bloat budgeting.

Used to be great

This app was great for tracking monthly finances. But the developers couldnt leave a good thing alone. Many functions dont work now leading to an unresponsive and crashing app. The new monthly indicators are good but there are still so many bugs that it is hard to use.

Thank You!

You guys have really turned it around in the newest update! The server is way more responsive, allowing for me to have an accurate daily balance so I can know how much to spend that day. Ive gotten used to how the trackers are set up now, so thats no problem for me. I also really like the trackers summary at the end of each month! Pretty nifty Ill have to say. Overall, just thank you for fixing most of the main issue that was bank and credit Union transaction updating.

Perfect!!

A fantastic money management app. Super slick and easy to use without going over budget. The only way to make it better would be an apple watch app and an iPad app!!

Too many bugs and bad re-design

I was a huge Level fan - the UI was spectacular and the ap for my needs perfectly. However, since the re-design, I have had nothing but trouble with the app. BUGS GALORE! It crashes constantly and after going though the trouble of re-setting up my account (the new version completely miscategorized everything) I am now seeing all my transactions doubled. I just deleted the app and am now moving to a new finance/budget planner. What a shame.

Can we go back to the old Level?

I hate the new update. Its a lot more confusing to use now. The only thing I like with the new update is it stays closer to real time rather than taking 2 or 3 days to update my account.
